Hello, my wife and I just got a HTT and we figured in a few years (probably two or three) we would upgrade to a bigger HTT, but the more I think about, I think our next move will be to a class C. I like them over the class A. I have no idea what to look for, such as options, engines, etc... I have a family of 5, so I am looking for at least four beds plus. Any suggestions would be helpful. Since the price of gas has pretty much killed RV prices now maybe the time to buy for us...

Talk to everyone later and Thanks in advance,

Dan

I have a 1996 Class C Leprechaun with a rare 7.3L diesel motor! I too prefer the class C, as this is my second diesel! The class C has more room, sleeping area, and easy to drive than a Class A. The 30' C can sleep 8 (couch, twin beds, dinette & Queen overhead bed)also stand up shower and separate bathroom. If you are patient and look around there are some good deals on some used Class C's! Now for the engine, depends on how much you are going to drive it for me there is nothing that compares to a diesel ( I currently own 2 now and would never go back to gas). While some argue that diesel cost more (price per gallon) when you compare the power and mpg to a gas there is no comparison. Gas Class C mpg is about 6-8.5 mpg where diesel is between 10.5-12.5 mpg depending on what you are towing. I tow a 18' Blue Fin Spectrum boat to lake Erie and the worst I got was 10.5 mpg in NC I got 12.5 mpg with the cruise set at 63 mph.

Also; a used Class C Diesel will hold its value more than a Class C gas MH, the diesel motor isn't broken in until about 100,000 miles, can't say that about Gas!
Hope this helps! Bill
