Today was one of the hardest and saddest days of our lives. We had to make the decision that we never wanted or expected to have to make. He has been going downhill all week but yesterday and today he got really bad. He just had no life left in him and couldn't even stand up hardly. I spent a long time telling him what he meant to me and cried and cried, but he is free now and not suffering anymore and I know his spirit will be us always. The vet made us a paw print with his name on it out of clay and we cut some of his curly red locks. I have a nice picture that I took while camping last month and his collar. I will be getting a shadow box ad putting all that and some of his favorite things in it as a memorial to him. We miss him so much...I still can't believe he's gone...

Our deepest condolences, loosing a trusted friend like that is real tough. We're still having a hard time missing Boscoe. We lost him sixteen months ago but we still have great joy from the great time we had with him. We're convinced his spirit stuck around because Huckleberry (joined us last Christmas) is turning out soooo much like him.
We'll raise a toast to Chewy this evening.

I'm so sorry for your great loss. You did the right thing by ending his pain and giving him the peace he deserves. May God bless you and comfort you through this most difficult time.

Sandie I'm so sorry it had come to this but just know you did what was best for Chewy, he's at peace now and running again without pain or disability, Sofie's probably running with him and welcoming him to the rainbow bridge.
I still miss my Sof everyday, I wish I could have kept her forever but I know I will see her again as you will Chewy.

Our deepest condolences to your family. We all know how hard it must have been for you. But you know in your heart it had to be done. After all the love a pet give. It's only right to treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve by not letting them suffer.
