On my 2005 Lance camper I have Atwood Ball-Screw Camper jacks with a remote control. Today while trying to take the camper off the two rear jacks would not extend but they would retract. The front jacks work fine.

When I test the power outlet at the relay panel for the rear jacks, I get nothing when extending and 12v when retracting. Front jacks work fine.

Any ideas? Is it the remote or is it the relay panel?

(I did reverse the wires in the jacks themselves to fool the jacks to get it off the truck, but don't want to have to do that all the time...)

Edit...New battery in the remote. Camper batteries are fully charged. My hearing sucks so I am not hearing anything, either extend or retract.

THANKS!

You can help two of us at once. I have one rear Atwood jack that just did the same thing. I can hear the relay clicking inside the electronics compartment so I suspect that and not the remote. However, I haven't put a new battery in the remote since I got it 19 months ago and think I will go do that now. Nevertheless, the extend all function works 3 jacks so ??? Maybe the extend all function sends 4 separate signals to the receiver.

On edit: It's not the remote battery. New battery, still won't extend the one jack. The clicking of the relay in the receiver is very distinct but it could be the remote.

I don't know about the Atwoods but I had a problem with my Happyjacs once. One would not work so I opened up the control box and I had a 20A fuse that was blown. Replaced it and everything was working again. Probably not your situation as you can raise the jack just not go down with them. Just a suggestion you might want to look at.

It's a holiday weekend here. Sounds like a Monday morning task but until then, since the topic was posted...

Try Atwoods number off their Products manual.
815-877-5700 or atwoodmobile.com
I have not had that problem yet but would be interested in hearing their reply. Good Luck

I had same problem with my 05 Lance turned out to be bad remote. Was replaced under warranty by dealer. I believe this is a common problem with their remotes. The only difference with mine it was the fronts that didn't retract.

I'll give Atwood a call. I hope they will offer some goodwill since they are out of warranty. Saw a price for the remote of about $250, OUCH!

I emailed Atwood last week but have yet to receive a reply. Maybe I fat fingered my email address in their web form. For now I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try the email again.
