There was a post on here a few weeks ago. You might do a search and find the OP. He may have some answers on what he found.

You will need deep pockets for a retrofit. I tinted all of mine and it has reduced inside temps. by 10 degrees.

Storm windows are a much cheaper retrofit.

yep, and RV dual panes aren't as good as the household variety. expensive to replace when they go bad, and they will go bad. get storms and heavy drapes instead.
I had them on a previous MH and didn't bother ordering them on my current one. JMHO
folks here that have them seem to promote them, but I would be willing to bet that those who do haven't had to replace a bunch of them YET.

I'd highly recommend them/with tint. This is my 3rd. 5er with dual pane windows and I've yet to have a problem with any of them. In fact the 02 Coachmen Somerset that had them was bought by a friend of mine,
I see the unit quite often, at 6+ years, there are no problems with his dual pane windows at all, no fogging up, no leaks, I got to admit,
even I've been impressed. I'd say it's far cheaper to buy a unit that already has them, then to retro-fit them. I'd also say that you can't judge ALL dualpane window "situations" by one experience,(early poster
had a bad one), or by me,(obvious good experience). It is what it is.
Even home installed storm windows have their problems and can be costly to repair

I talked to a lady that repaired my home glass last month and although I don't have dual pane windows at home, I asked about them and she said they loose their gas fill in five to eight years and have to be serviced which is expensive. Are the dual pane windows in an RV gas filled like those on a site built home or are they just two panes of glass sandwiched together with a dead air space in the middle?

Just one more vote in favor of dual panes. I have a 99 Kountry Star, no problems, knock on wood! They make the trailer much more comfortable.
