I installed some snaps in the frame of the dome (those male portion of the snap with a screw on the back side, like some outside windshield covers use), and got a piece of that aluminum colored insulated material at a hardware store. Installed matching female snaps in that stuff, then just snapped it in place. Cuts the light to almost nothing, really blocks heat in the summer, and helps retain heat in the winter...

Thank you for all of your replies. May I ask, what is CW? We will look into that...
All of the options are very good, and I thank you again.

I work Construction, so have easy access to the different types of vinyl and insulated ceiling tiles which are used in commercial buildings...these can all be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot, and at 2' x 4' can be cut to fit tight inside any skylight.
The insulated panels actually diffuse the light to a soft yellow glow, very pleasing to the mind.
Good luck
Whether your a Gazelle or a Lion, when the sun comes up...you better be running.

Lots of good ideas here. I tried a few and ended up buying some white plastic paint, cutting cardboard to catch overspray and going on the roof and giving that skylight a permanent paint job. Looks good from outside, matching the vents. Still get filtered light so to block for sleeping I cut a piece of reflectix (foil bubble wrap cheap at home depot-great for windows) and keep it up there with a pair of those spring loaded fridge rods. That skylight is not something I see as a big benifit and feel that sun would degrade the shower plastics pretty quick. I control moisture with the maxx air fan. 1 season with my fix and it's worked well.

I thought the purpose of the sky light was to kill mold in the wet shower. I'm like everyone else and don't like the light shining through, but covering it up would defeat it's purpose. Or does it really not kill enough mold to make a difference?

I love the ideas, thanks. I have tried a piece of the window covering for the entrance door window (just the right size) but have had no success with the velcro, maybe now I can get it to stay up with another method.

Check out pplmotorhomes. com and search for "skylight shades". They are spendy at about 56 dollars but are a blackout retractable shade for this exact purpose.

You need to "google" for the website of the company that makes the day/night shades as they manufacture ones for shower skylights that are of different material to withstand moisture without getting damaged. Our trailer came equipped with a very tight fitting shade that allows just the barest minimum amount of light around the edges of the shade when it's closed.
With a retractable shade you have the best of both worlds.
