I just bought a 96 Winnebago Vectra. The keys they gave me will go into the lock but won't turn them. I have almost 50 keys given to me by the dealer. He said just spray with wd40 and they will work. of course that didn't, any suggestions on loosen them up. or better yet a way to get in the storage and maybe changing them out for new ones. i assume camping world carries them and maybe only have one key for all of them. all of the doors are unlocked except one. and this one, the dealer could not get it open. so I'm hoping there might be a bunch of gold bricks in it. thanks for the help.

I would call Winnebago and give them the VIN number. They can cross reference that to the motor home ID number. Then they should be able to give you the key number so you can make sure you have the right keys.
I would hang on to the ID number because you can use it to get a lot of help from Winnebago.

You believed the dealer????.....I don't think you have the right keys..I would demand the dealer replace all the locks and give you a new set of keys..at his cost of course...

The locks themselves will have a 2 or 3 digit number printed on the face. If you dont have a key with the same number(s)...you could have 500 keys that will "fit" but wont unlock them!

Once you get them unlocked...toss the WD40 in the trash and use a LIGHT spray OIL ( with a soda straw applicator) inside the locks.

Are you sure that the 'Lock' is frozen?

I frequently have problems with items shifting inside the compartment during travel. These items will sometimes lodge themselves next to the tab that is on the other side of the lock, thus preventing from it from opening. Pushing the door inwards and wiggling the lock back and forth will usually dislodge the obstruction.

Do You have a Key numbered CH 751 ? That seems to be the Master Key that opens Most RV Storage Compartments, Gas Doors Etc.
