Just thought I would drop a line about the above KOA. I am presently sitting in my trailer at this park and I can tell you that I am really feeling like I have been ripped off. The sites are crammed together and of really poor quality. I was told on the phone that we would have a pull through "premier" site. Technically I wasn't lied to as I would have had a pull through if there had not been another trailer parked in the front half of my site (this is typical throughout the park). It appears that during slow times they use the sites as pull throughs and during busy times (like this weekend), they double everything up but just don't tell you that over the phone. If by premier you mean water, electricity and a sewer connection that is well above grade then I guess I got it. As an added kicker, we were charged $57 for one night PLUS $7 per child (total of $78)- well above normal KOA rates. I almost choked when I was quoted the price but I figured that since this was a "premier" site that I could suck it up for one night- I was sadly mistaken.
The only thing that can be said is that it is about 10-15 minutes from downtown Jackson which is a very cool little town. That being said, I don't think that gives someone the right to charge ridiculous prices for completely sub-par facilities.
I am going to complain to management however I have already been warned by other complaining Kampers that the owner is not at all receptive to critisism. I also plan to try and lodge a complaint with KOA headquarters. This is the 2nd KOA on this trip that has failed to meet the minimum standards promised by KOA.
Sorry for the negative commentary but I thought that if others are headed out this way they may want to look for something else.
Me and my very close new neighbors are very disappointed.
I don't know if it would do any good, but if you have internet access you might want to show the manager this forum. Mention the number of members and tell him we all read everyone else's reviews!
You just described the majority of the KOAs we ever stayed in and the reason we quit using them over 10 years ago. Keep On Adding the extra charges on to an already unrealistic base rate, for usually a run down facility.

This is the basic reason that we shy away from KOA's if at all possible. You might mention about the vast numbers of people on this forum that you are going to caution about his sub-standard facility.
Ask him if he has ever seen any current pictures of his facility on the internet. Usually they will get real goosy and corgial with you if they think that you might take a bunch of pictures of his facility and put them on the forum for the public to see.
He just might be able to find you some better accommodations. ha

I would be embarrased if my campground was "reviewed" on this forum in a negative way. I wonder if KOA ever reads these posts. Maybe they don't care. Maybe they have enough customers. Just some thoughts.

KOA bashing....ain't it fun? I'll stick up for 'em tho. The KOAs we frequent in Utah, Colorado and Nevada are quite nice, IMHO, and we've never had a problem. Clean, friendly, pet friendly, spacious and available. Couple bucks more, here and there, but what the hey. If I had to drive at night instead of staying at a KOA for $36 I could only go about 70 miles at the same price. It's all relative. One bad apple and all that......
