It is well maintained with many different gardens and there is a campground inside the park. It's about half way across the northern border of ND on US Rte 281 north of Dunseith, ND. The entrance to the garden is between the border entry gates so you don't have to enter Canada to visit but coming back out you will need to prove your US citizenship.
I am afraid that has changed about coming back in the US from the Peace Gardens or so I am been told. There are many great stops throughout the state. Fishing is a must at both Lake Sakakawea and Devils Lake. Grahams Island State Park is incredible at Devils Lake. Don't for the center of North America monument at Rugby. I am even amazed at all there is to see and do in North Dakota. In a few weeks, DW and I will spend a few days off at Medora and look forward to traveling TR National Park. As others said, the pitchfork fondue really sux unless you like an old burned piece of show leather.
Every meal is a feast, everyday is a parade and every paycheck is a fortune!
Spring is here, let's have fun
If you get up to the Intl Peace Garden and are into turtles be sure & stop in Dunseith & see the "wheel turtle" and then run over to Bottineau and see good old Tommy Turtle!!
Who says theres nothing to see in North Dakota?????
There was a story about ND on TV last week. At Medora they went to a steak fry where the steaks were put on pitch forks and deep fried. About half way across the state you will see a big metal sculpture that I believe is called geese flying. Down the road a bit the guy has all kinds of work he has done. The Bad Lands of western ND can be entertaining and the Flying J at Beach has great cookies. Watch out for the dip in the road at Valley City.
