with a 12ft vintage TT, I happed upon a photo of a similar manufacture model, the owners had photos posted. Several of their photos showed a great awning alternative.
A 6-legged 10x20 portable carport/canopy. Used sideways, one 10x10 area covers the camper, and the other becomes covered expanse. The advantages this setup provides, at home and at a CG are substantial.
The peak of the canopy is well above the camper roof, preventing UV damage and paint fade by blocking sunlight. The lower in height sides are high enough to clear the camper's front and rear corners. The small footprint of the camper allows for extra cover to the rear wall, or extra cover out front, for whichever east/west orientation you wind up with.
I know, I know, PICTURES. I cannot find the keys to the car parked beside the camper. I guess I should have listened to the little voice that warned about not having one in the key jar. I do have a shot of the idea's originator's setup. You can see their '64 Mobile Scout here <--click this!
I use a 16 x 20 awning with the peak and 16 foot length running parallel with the door side of my pup Give me a 16 x 12 area to sit and cook under protected from the rain.
