I have a friend who is trying to wire a brake controller in his 2004 Dodge Ram. The wireing harness has 4 wires. White w/ red tracer blue blue w/white tracer, and green w/black tracer. Anyone know what these wires are? Thanks.

If the harness was supplied by the brake controller manufacturer, visit their website or call them for a wiring diagram. If it wasn't supplied by the mfg. where did it come from & why are you trying to use it?

He said it came off a Dodge and he's hooking it up to a Draw-tite

I have put a few controllers in and most have these color coded wires:

BLUE----to trailer brakes (12 gauge, or bigger, wire)

BLACK---to battery +, circuit breaker in line

WHITE---to ground

RED-----to brakelight switch

I noticed you colors are different???

I have learned the harness is from the factory, and everything has been taken care of. On my '91 Dodge the colores are the standard White, Blue, Black,and Red. The newer trucks are just getting harded and harder to work with. Thanks guys for helping. Dr. Bob
