Will be leaving in 3 weeks for a 12 night stay at Bridge Bay CG in Yellowstone NP. I want to take the portable gas grill along, but my brother says that might not be a good idea, because of the grease left over in the gas grill after use might become a bear magnet.
Anyone had problems with gas grills attracting bears?

When we stayed at Fishing Bridge we were required to store the gas grill at night. Not sure about Bridge bay campground.

you'll have to put it away at night in any campground in Yellowstone.

You'll likely need to store it, depending on the time of year, but its not like camping in the Sierra's and all of the bear restrictions there.

in Yellowstone no matter where you are at you have to store EVERYTHING, no leaving things on the picnic tables or out around the trailer, No garbage containers left next to the trailers, and the grill will have to be put away after dinner is made. Bears can be any where and this is just a precaution.
We always take our grill, just use it and after dinner we put it back in the storage bay of our camper. Also you don't want to throw food particles into the fire ring, make sure everything goes in the bear proof garbage cans.
We go 3 times per year, and have never had a problem just keep a clean camp

If you are in bear country, store everything. Do not put food, grease or anything else that would attract bears (grizzly or black) into the fire pit. Do not leave food, pet food or pet bowls our! If a bear identifies food with humans or human activity, the bear will become a problem bear and have to be destroyed. Be safe.

You'll be OK if you follow one simple tip:
Sneak out at night and spread peanut butter and bacon grease on the rigs on the far side of the campground. You won't be bothered by bears in your campsite!

When the grill is completely cool, place in a plastic bag and seal the bag tightly.
Than put the bag in the trunk of your car.
