Just a thought. If the problem were the 'timer motor' then manually advancing the knob would activate the different functions as you turned it.
So I doubt it's the motor itself.
It does sound like it has lost power somehow.

If it is possible to slide the unit out of the cabinet or to get to the top and rear of the unit, there are screws near the top on the rear of the washer that hold the top in place. Remove these screws and slide the top rearward a little and carefully remove the top. See if the ground plane which is mounted on the underside of the top of the washer has come loose and is grounding out some of the electric connections. If so, drill at least four small holes in the large metal ground plane and use very short sheet metal screws to secure it to the plastic top of the washer. If the ground plane is still in place, check the electrical connections going to the timer to see if they are secure.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! After I turned it off for 10 minutes and then moved it past the reset, it started again! Now I'll be able to get the wet clothes out! I love this forum!
