THis week I am in Georgia and this is not it. THere are about 12 RVers here and only about 4 look like they full time. During the winter Texas, Florida and Arizona are all full of folks and offer a lot of activities. What is there during the summer to match the snow bird season?

Most any place in the mountains, even the Blue Ridge are 15 degrees cooler 3,000 feet up. For a REAL "heat retreat" consider Glacier National Park or anywhere in the northern Rockys. Good luck / Skip

We have friends that go to Pagosa Springs CO. A lot also go to the Durango area.
There is a Sunbird Park near Vallecito Lake north of Keystone CO.

Gee know of a lot of good places to go to escape the heat of WINTER snowbird places, but can't really say about activities at the park. Most use the area to entertain people. Guess I never really thought about it.

We spend two months in Florence and Pacific City Oregon then a month in La Conner and Mount Vernon Washington. Florence and Pacific City is right by the Ocean. La Conner is near a lot of interesting places to see. We have been going to the above places in the summer for 15 straight years.

We used to spend em in San Diego, but they got greedy on rates, so now we go to Ruidoso and Santa Fe. Dem folks dont even know what an a/c is up there. And plenty to do. Durango has so many things to do and see in the immediate area, it would take us 5 years to get it all.

Thanks for the replies. Today is Monday and here we set. THe clubhouse amd office is closed at 6tpm. There were about 100 campers her over the 4th but at this time I can count 12 in the campground. I was think if this is the way it is for full timing during the summer, it might not be worth the effort of going North. I read that the REAL snowbirds have potluck dinners, dances, workshops and all kinds of stuff during the winter but the summer seams to escape us. The campgrounds look empty except for weekenders. I would like to find the same thing the snowbirds have but as a summerbird. I live in Florida so don't have to leave during the winter but the summers would be nice to travel, and mingle with others.
