will be in Joilet, Il. this weekend. What can I take into the track? Can someone give me some tips or advice on attending my first race. Will it be worth it.

A scanner and a seat cushion. Anything else in a clear bag for security check.

I definitely agree with hershey ! ! You can rent a scanner at the track if you don't have access to one!

Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat would be recommended as well! Oh, and don't forget your camera too!

Have a great time! Get a good night's sleep and be sure to be there early for all of the pre-race "stuff". It can be very enjoyable as well!

Mark.

Some good ideas - especially the sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. If it is going to be a hot day I put my red bandana in my small cooler that has my drinks in it and then place the bandana, ice cold and wet, on the back of my neck. Great way to stay cool.

You will have a great time at the race! Be sure to take picts and then post them for us to see.

How much were your tickets, each?

$75 a piece. My cousin bought them. Had 3 other friends who said they would go with him but all 3 backed out. His dad my dad and myself are going. My dad and I said we would go knowing this would probably be our only chance to see a nascar race.

Try to remember to get someone around you to take your picture, with the track in the background perhaps. Just adds a little when you are showing your pictures.

Seat cushions for sure, you can pick them up at the track for under $10 if you don't have them. Plenty of bottle water, freeze a couple the night before. Comfortable walking shoes, and get there early enough to get some "freebies" from the race sponsors in the Fan zone.
