My MH got plugged into 220V today, don't ask how cause I aint gonna tell ya. Just suffice it to say I now have some electrical problems. The two breakers that control appliances and receptacles are the circuits giving the problem.
The appliance circuit is hot even when disconnected from the breaker. This tells me I have a short somewhere but I don't know where. I have disconnected the water heater and the fridge and still have the short. Feeding back thru the neutral possibly?
The other circuit controls the receptacles down the curb side and front of MH. This circuit does not throw a breaker and appears to be open.
This is a '97 Allegro Bay gasser.
Any help or suggestions to run this down much appreciated.

It helps to know a little more. Is your Allegro a 50 amp rig or 30 amp?

The automatic transfer switch (for generator power) may be smoked. It may not work to provide generator power, and contacts on the relay may be burned. But it appears it is still "working" to provide shorepower.
When plugged into shorepower, check the voltage between the neutral buss and the ground buss. If you have 120 volts, you have the polarity reversed. (If the polarity is reversed, turning off the breaker does not remove the power as it is coming in on the neutral line.) Check the receptacle that you are plugged into.
The receptacles that don't work are probably protected by GFCI. It may be tripped and/or smoked.

The receptacle in the bath is GFCI protected. The other 3 that don't work are not.
Something else I noticed is that previously my inverter? hummed constantly when shore power was plugged in. Now there is no hum at all.
And I also found out accidentally that I can touch the buss strip and ground and get quite a shock, don't think this is supposed to happen?

Are you still plugged in to the same source? If not, where are you getting power from? Is this a verified trusted source of 30A power?
Do you have a multimeter? can you track from the plug in each wire and see where the power problem begins? Start at the plug and follow the power wire from there thru the entire circuit. Then you will/should locate the problem.
Good Luck!

Is it possible the GFCI receptacle is fried and preventing power from getting to the other receptacles in the circuit?

I am now plugged into a good source of power.
I have narrowed it down to 2 circuits. the appliance circuit and the receptacle circuit curbside and front.
The recep. circuit appears to be open.
The appliance circuit is shorted. I have unplugged the fridge and water heater and still have the short.
I have not tried genset power to see if there is any difference.
Don't have a multimeter. If i have no power on the receptacles how can I see which one is the problem?
