Possibly everything except Cadillac and Chevrolet. Directors meeting early August will decide.

Interesting...I'm sure GMC is in there with Chevy and Cadillac. Why would they sell or who would want to buy a division who's intials are General Motors Corporation? And seeing how the are all made on the same lines as Chevys.

This speaks to a point I've made in many conversations: Why on earth do US auto manufacturers insist on maintaining makes and models with nearly identical features?
Daimler Chrysler in recent years killed off Plymouth for that very reason. Why have the Plymouth Voyager, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Chrysler Town & Country when they are the exact same vehicle with slightly different trim, bells, and whistles? It didn't make sense because the 3 brands competed against each other. The same was true of Oldsmobile vs Buick. That's one of the reasons Olds is gone, too much feature overlap.
While I don't like to see US jobs disappear, the manufactures need to take a long hard look at where they are beating themselves up and eliminate those conflicts. For example, why on earth does GM still make Chevy and GMC trucks Yes they vary slightly in appearance and features, but mechanically they are the exact same truck. The same holds true for Ford and Mercury SUV's and cars.
Buyers want choice, but they also want value. Make one vehicle, give it multiple options, and eliminate the fat.

From what I have read, the Caddy dealers are none too happy with the proposed sell off(who would buy the rights to build a SUV with the name but really not a true "Hummer" ie. Humvee?). Many Cadillac dealers spent big money to carry the Hummer line alongside their cars now are told the end for the Hummer is near. I think the sell off/termination will include the GMC truck line also, in addition to the Buick, Saturn and Pontiac nameplates. Maybe Ford will also shut down the Mercury line, no indication so far. I think GM could do well with a subcompact, fun car line much like Toyota does with the Scion line. GM should be able to source the vehicles from it's overseas line. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing great little diesel powered Fords running all over Europe and Great Britain, only to be told that they will not be offered here. Have you seen the Europe only Focus?

I have no idea who would buy any of those lines, but I can see them being eliminated from GM in the future.
The Hummer suv as we know it on the roads today is a rediculus vehicle to begin with. It's huge on the outside but tiny on the inside. Very heavy but has hardly any carrying ability. Uses alot of gas but can only tow a bumper pull trailer. Has 4wd and looks like a real off road vehicle but really has no more off road capability than any other full size pickup or suv.
It is all about image and nothing about usability. It is the quintessential 'Poser' vehicle. I've always despised them for that reason. It is a shame that the real military HummVee was forced to lend it's name and reputation to this rediculus poor excuse for a vehicle, Hummer. I'll be glad to see it buried for good.

GM bought the rights to the Hummer marketing name only, for consumer vehicles. *Real* Humvees are still a product of AM General.

Skup, to add to your point...it's not just Caddy dealers. In recent years, GM has encouraged Hummer dealerships - many of them stand-alone - to put a LOT of money into their stores. Some dealerships have invested up to $6 million in their exclusive Quonset hut-style stores.

I also agree, the Hummer is a vehicle that shouldn't of been built.
