One of mine was too tight from the factory and failed a visual inspection when I did mine at two years. Sounds like bearings are put together with the same quality as most everything else. Full replacement done correctly should last many miles.

With problems like you are experiencing, I'd check and determine what weight of axles you have under the 5th Wheel. They may be too light and the bearings are too small for the trailer weight.

This was my thinking also. The axles should have come from the manufacture to the 5vr builder ready to install but you could have gotten a bad bearing right from the start. This is the first I have heard of a problem of the magnitude.

First thing I would do is weigh your rig to see if you are overweight. If overweight replacing will only be a temporary fix.

In June we installed a brand new hub, came with new bearings/races/seals. This hub has 2,000 miles on it, the plan now is to thoroughly inspect this hub for worn bearings etc.

If it looks good, I think this would eliminate the axle issue? What do yous think?

Another consideration is the tire wear. No problems there, tires have no uneven tread. They actualy look pretty good. I'm thinking it may not be the axles, fingers crossed ofcourse......

Most lite duty bearing are now made in Taiwan/China. It's all in the specs.
I have come across some fantastic bearing made in Russia/Taiwan/Japan. I'm talking 6~8 years old with weekly use. I been most impressed with the Russian bearing on my 10 year old 6X12 trailer.
