Well We bought a new sundance 2997bhs and was very exited. We took delivery and the seat cushion had a tear that factory tryed fixing but we noticed it right away. So the dealer ordered a new one and took pictures of it. Also the jackknife sofa fabric was skewed with the pattern. All was noted in walkthrough Then the outside shower wand was broke at the joint. Also the ceiling fan didnt work and kept blowing breakers. The air fan rubbed and the dinnette table was to far in the window ,so the shades couldnt close. And then a few other things. We took it to the dealer and they put a new outside shower on and the new cushion that was ordered was the wrong colour!!They fixed the table and and the few other things and they had not recieved the sofa. This has now been a few months going on Well this weekend we got to our 5er when someone came up to us and said ,"water was dripping out of the front so we turned the water off". So I went inside and found the outside shower that must be $5.00 tops, wand fitting was leaking really bad. The basement storage was flooded and the underbelly was full of water. I cleaned it all up and put fans in for 2 days. Well I called heartland cus service and they said that they wouldnt put an upgraded shower in or give me any credit towards me buying one. This irrated me for I am very leary of putting another of those cheap showers in. I told them that it would probbably be in their interest to do that, or pay to have a bunch of water damaged stuff fixed. They would not waiver in helping me out. What would you guys do?

Well since everything has been well documented, photos receipts, dates and times of phone calls, the parties you have spoken with. You have estimates for the repair of the water damages, repair of the shower seems like a visit to the small claims court is in order. That's My 2 Cents. Bill

I think I would go strait to the top at the factory level if no results then a good lawyer.I don`t like that route but some times you do what you have to do.
It mite help to let them know what a wonderfully thing the INTERNET is at getting the word out about bad service.

Since your dealer replaced the shower, it sounds like they are the responsible for a bad install.

You want something EXTRA for what could be deemed either a bad install by the dealer or wear and tear.

Are they refusing to fix it?

I would just fix it myself, and be done with it.You will find unless its a major issue, its not worth getting worked up over,it will take all the joy out of your camping experience.

I would go over to www.heartlandowners.org and make a post about it in the ask the factory forum.

Here is the link to the rules of the ATF, for the Sundance 5th wheels.

http://www.heartlandowners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3045

I do not fully agree with the rules listed in the link above but they are the rules of the site.

Best of luck to you.

Call Heartland and ask to speak to Jim Fenner the man in charge of service.

Or go to the heartland owners web site and post there, sometimes Mr Fenner will respond, but it is best to call him direct.

I have had no problems with any kind of repair on my Heartland Golden Gate it has a lot to do with the dealer. The dealer can make Heartland take care of the repairs but, like I said my issues where handled with no problems.
On your shower issue it sounds like the dealers tech needs some more training.
Jim Fenner is the person to talk to at Heartland.
