While not knowing the particulars that you and the dealer agreed to, I know that I would not agree to let them hold my old TT for up to a month while he waits for the title. Your old trailer is of no use to him without a title anyway. In the meantime you could be using it.

just a choice he has to make...
or live with if he already made it...
would you agree on a price for a used car today if they guy said he was going to use it another month...
I doubt you would... if its already upside down the dealer is the one at risk if it's damaged and he already agreed to pay it off...
even though the dealer couldn't sell it yet he could prep it and show it...
I have seen this before! Typically, it is because there is some question as to the actual title, or getting the title to the trade. However! If you have signed the paperwork on your new trailer, and there is no disclaimer, then he is just bullying you around. The dealer has absolutely no right to hold your property.
If you have paid cash, and have the signed paperwork, then go get your trailer. If he resists, then tell him you will report it as stolen, and call the police.
If you have financed, then I would call the finance company immediately and explain to them the situation. They will put a delay on your 1st payment atleast until you take posession.
Now, if the dealer is also the financer, then you are probably stuck.
I agree with most - this is a shady deal!
Good luck

I think you should start writing checks to the dealer for storage on both your units, sounds to me like he deserves more than you paid already. There is NO WAY I would trade in a vehicle and then wait a month to pick up the new one...what are you thinking? Or is this a troll I just bit on?
jay2003, the next time you buy a car, imagine the dealer taking the keys to your car and not letting you leave with it while you waits for the car you bought to be shipped? No different than what you said about this guy not having his trailer.

Can you read??? Or are you a troll? He stated he purchased a new trailer and the dealer accepted his as a trade. Whether it takes a month or not he paid for the new trailer and the dealer has no right to hold it over him because the loan holder of the traded camper is slow. May it be the dealer has low cash and cannot afford to pay off the loan to get the title yet? Sure sounds like it. What other reason would there be a problem getting the tite from the loan holder?
WOW! someone new shows up and post using the word HELP in caps gives almost no details and in four days hasn't been back...
yet
we are really quick to blame the dealer...
I really doubt this came as a surprise to the OP and he still left the old one there...
there could be several reasons why the deal is contingent on title being released first..
like the title being in a name different than the one on the new deal...
the new finance company not releasing the loan until the payoff on the old...
trailer in possession of the OP but title mixed up in a estate settlement, and a host of other scenarios, yet without any detail we blast the dealer...
dealers create enough of their own problems to ruin their reputations, they don't need our help...
this is a unusual situation, and I would bet there are unusual circumstances to...

All you here on this sight is how bad rv dealer are, suppose any of them have been burnt by customers??????? I have been burnt many times
by customers, later to find out they scammed me
you don't stay in business for very long if you trust everyone,,,,sad but true.
I have been in the auto body business for over 30 years,, now its my sons headache. everyone wants some thing for nothing, the business owners time is worth nothing but the customers time is worth 100's to 1000's,,,,,
If this guy wanted a faster deal, there would have been many things HE could of did to make it faster.
It really gets old to here the same old thing over and over on here, It might be a breath of fresh air if they did let dealers post on here... maybe no sales pitches, but to give first hand info on matters like this and first hand info on manufactures, service, warranty, and a host of other info,,,,, other sights do,,,,
I have spoke to my dealer about this sight and he say's its turned into a rolling soap opera with a hand full of doom and gloomers that nobody could satisfy, a bunch of bad information,a ton of my brand is the best because that is what I bought and some very good information
from a few,,,,,
