The Forth of July weekend travel on I-95 and I-26 proved to be devoid of the usual RV traffic. Only a few were out in their RV's, compaired to years past when everyone that had one was on the road either headed to the ocean or mountains. Many high MPG sedans and small SUV's were seen. The mix included many fivers, very few trailers, and of the RV's many were new class A's. Some RV rentals were seen with one broken down on the shoulder, as they seem to be older class C's. Hotel's did better than RV parks, as the fuel prices head to $5.00 a galon here in the USA.

2003 Jayco 308fbs eagle 33' tt, towed by a 2003 Ram 3500 slt, quad cab dually, cummins diesel ho, trailer towing package, with 6 speed manual. Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. I have added so far, neon lights, clearance lights, back up lights, black light, lift kit, mud tires, and everything necessary to make the golf cart street legal. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. This golf cart does wheelies and travels thru 7 inches of mud when need be. Two honda eu2000i gens twinned to supply the electrical power. Latest addition an 04 Honda Goldwing. Not in MI. I had to run and drop my son at camp near Stony Lake about 2 hour drive and back. There were RV's everywhere.. Mostly southbound 31 coming back from the dunes..

Also last week we camped in Indiana. CG is 700+ spots and it seemed mostly full all week with a constant flow of people coming and going..

The (small) campground we were at in Virginia was full. Saw quite a few RVs on the road to and from, too.

It was VERY busy where we were. I saw only one open site in the campground we were staying at. (right next to us) My wife was there for 10 straight days.

The CG that we stayed at was full. This morning on the way to work, I thought there was a lot of RV travel on I-80.

we drove 450 miles and noticed many Rv's on the road. The CG we stayed in was 100% full. I think your observations are incorrect, at least for the area we were in. Like Wayne, I am curious how you know that hotels did better?
