We will be going full time in the next year. I am in the process of researching computer jobs that can be done while we are on the road. I am computer literate and looking for possible customer service, data entry, billing, etc. Has anyone found legitimate work along this line. If so would you share the websites. Appreciate any and all feedback.

We would like the same information, with a heavy emphasis on 'legitimate work'. There seem to be loads of scams, but few legitimate.

so forget the on the road part of looking for opportunities....with the computer you will be competing with work at homers and work at home wannabe's. you will need to shop for a system (to get internet) that will work everywhere you want to go...
I would be cautious of anything that will require occassional visits with customers or company.....those could pop the on the road lifestyle with costs that might put you out of the running if you need the company you work for to pay for your travel. Those kinda things are usually going to people who are established already.

The best one I saw was selling jewelry on line....travel barter find great deals and turn them into sales from a self maintained web site. but you could do it for anything...and even do custom shopping for those who can't travel to where you are or are going........you'll find something for sure.....just takes time......

happy trails
Don

I work in IT support for a large Computer company. I support Technicians across the country. I work from home mainly but can work from any where i have Internet and a phone. As long as i am available during the hours I am scheduled for and completing my jobs my boos does not care where I am.

However we are not looking for anyone new at this time

It is possible to earn significant income thru affiliate programs on ones own websites. Every ad you see on these pages has earning potential for the website owners.."Affinity Group"
Every ad you see on every page you visit has earning potential.
SO..if you can build websites, join affiliate programs and drive traffic (the hard part) to them, it IS possible to make Millions of dollars from home and it IS legitimate.

The key to it all is that you need to have an existing skill and "become" a person working at home. The creative ability to create, build and maintain websites that can ring up "CLICKS" is a very great skill that few have.

I knew that someday these sites would be of value to someone.

NBC did a special on working from home and the reputable companies who did the hiring. Below are the links. I know nothing about these companies, so try at your own risk.

...........................

Get started by visiting the sites of three leaders in the field: Alpine Access (www.alpineaccess.com), VIPDesk (www.vipdesk.com), and Willow CSN (www.willowcsn.com). Hiring is handled online and on the phone, which mirrors the type of work you're doing. Expect to be tested in typing, writing, language and computer skills. And some companies also require drug testing and background checks.

Ummm, the website affiliate advertising does have some potential, but it is worthless unless you have a website that is getting lots and lots of traffic, and by that I mean thousands and thousands of hits per day. I operate a couple of websites and make 'some' money on the affiliate programs, but if I had to count on that money for buying food I would have starved to death a long long time ago!!

You might check www.elance.com and www.guru.com. You bid on projects in many areas including data entry, web design, virtual assistant, etc. Be sure to spend some time looking at how each works - they each have their own nuances. Good luck!

Just a note about work from home customer service positions, like Alpine Access. They require that you have specific equipment, like cable internet, not satellite or air card. You also must have a land line phone, not cell phone. These requirements make it a lot tougher to do this work from your RV & have freedom to travel.
