Okay, Here's our dilemma...We just got back to Vegas from a wonderful trip to Yellowstone, Tetons and Flaming Gorge. Thurs 7/10 we head out again to Tahoe, Reno, all thru Oregon and back to Idaho. I have us planned and reserved up to Sept 8 in Twin Falls Idaho. We need help and suggestions on where to go from here. We usually spend the Holidays in Vegas (love Vegas) but do not want to get there too early. We usually get there Nov or Dec. We thought going North might not be smart because of winter/snow coming. We actually thought of going back to Yellowstone since we loved it so much but thought you good people would have some suggestions of new places to go and see. We are full-time so time is not an issue. Please suggest some RV parks and things to do also in the areas.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Janet

I would stay in Idaho as long as possible or until the first snow flies. Have you considered the Challis area?

Since you're heading towards Oregon anyway from Tahoe I'd head across California and at least do Napa Valley. Spend a few days there tasting the wines and stocking up for the cold winters. Make sure you go up to the Greystone(?) Culinary Institute for a fantastic dinner! (north end of Napa Valley) Perhaps swing over to San Francisco and sight see up that way. Then head up the coast into Oregon and Washington. Maybe even a bit of time in Canada. Sort of making a really big loop towards Idaho.

How about the Olympic Penninsula? It would be a little milder along the coast. Yellowstone is awesome, but snow will be arriving there well before November.

Thanks, but we do already have our reservations all thru Oregon and back into Idaho. We really don't want to go back and over again to Washington.
Also we have lived in Calif most of our life so kind-of been there alot..
Challis sounds interesting in Idaho. What is there to see and do there ?
Thanks again all. I really appreciate all the suggestions.

I'd head South into Utah and do the canyons - admittedly getting closer to Vegas, but those canyons are special.

Or go east a little to Rapid City and the Black Hills. Not sure when the weather starts to get in the way, but there;s a lot to see around there.

ditto to doing southern Utah and the canyon country.
Torrey has a nice rv park "Thousand Lakes RV Park"
and sits well for driving highway 12 in a toad.
Capitol Reef Nat'l park has a nice campground.
It's a scenic drive to take 95 south from Hanksville UT down to Blanding.
If you take the 276 loop, it crosses the Colorado on a ferry. I BELIEVE it's big enough for you, but check that before you go.
In route to Blanding is Natural Bridges park, and if they're full, there's a primitive "overflow" site a couple miles up the highway.. the rangers will tell you where.

Utah Canyons sound like a good idea. What are the temps like in Sept and Oct? This is the reason we don't want to get to Vegas til Nov or Dec HOT...
We went to Zion on the way to Yellowstone but we have not seen the rest.
Thanks bunches...Janet
