We recently purchased a Jayco 213 TT, and have a dealer-installed EaZLift WD hitch and sway control setup. The problem is, while we were coming home last Sunday we apparently lost on of the clips that secure the chains attached to our spring bars! It's a gold-colored, small "C" shaped clip/pin, about 1/4" in diameter that is used to secure the stirrup-like bracket in the up position (thus applying tension to the spring bars). My question is, since this litle thing seems VERY important, yet apparently is inadequate, is there something better to use in place of these little clips/pins? I've looked online and found locking clips for couplers, etc. that would seem to work, but we're newbies so we're unsure what would be appropriate. Has anyone else had this problem? Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!

this keeps the spring bar in place, go to the store and buy another one, in fact buy two , one for a spare.

Small stainless steel machine screw and nut will do in a pinch. The pins should be used.

There are many different clips that can be used. Just go to Lowes and look in the hardware section. You can one that looks like a hitch pin clip, I think it is called a clevis pin. They are a bit more secure and not able to slide out.

I have the same one and when I put the chains on I pull down on the pin so it is tight.

I have the same brand wd hitch and looked for another type of pin that was more secure but never did find anything. The hole in the bracket is too small of a diameter for anything I could find. I thought about drilling it out a little bigger to accept a different style but haven't gotten around to it.

Well, I looked and looked, and finally found something which to me seems like a wonderful replacement. Since the holes in the brackets are quite small as JeeperAz pointed out, I was pretty limited. I found a 2 1/2" wire lock pin (1/4" post) at www.Fastenal.com. I bought 3, just in case. They fit very tightly in the holes, and the wire lock ensures that they don't come out till I want 'em to! They were cheap too, I think I paid less that $7.00 for 3 of them.
