Here are a couple of past threads about the Roomba vacuums to read until owners chirp up about how they are currently getting along with them.

We have one and it is great on tile and wood floors. It is ok for surface cleaning of carpets, for just quick cleaning between deep vacuuming with our regular vacuum. Our dogs even like it and sleep on their dog beds as it rolls by them. Have not used it in the MH as of yet.
See you on the road!

We have one and are planning on getting another for the second level. I LOVE it!!! It does a fantastic job!
It's so easy to turn it on, set up the virtual wall where you want it and forget it. It docks itself when finished and recharges. All I have to do is clean the lint/dust compartment and brushes before the next use. Shucks, it even cleans UNDER the beds every time ~ no more bending over for me.
Ordinarily I use the Roomba on a weekly basis or after the grandbabies leave and drag out the big vacuum once a month - more often if needed.
We've given each of our kids one and they like/use them just as much as I do. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who hates to drag a vacuum around!!

* on edit...we have hardwoods and ceramic tile throughout the house and carpet in the bedrooms. Does a great job on all of them

My question would be if you have a robotic vacuum cleaner that you run on a frequent basis, why would you need the big vacuum cleaner at all?

My friend bought one, then another, then a third, then one for each of her 5 kids. She loves hers and said that they do a great job, her floors are always clean. You can get a 10% off coupon at their website.

3 cats
Combination of Berber (sp?) and tile
3 Roombas (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs)
Daughter has one
Inlaws bought one next
One thing though
The initial batteries are not that long lasting.
We bought Li-ions which work much better.
Those little suckers also go under the beds.
They do not like loose electrical cords or tassels on throw rugs.
No experience with deep pile

Guess I'm just picky!!
No, I usually clean under furniture cushions, blinds, lampshades and tops of the drapes at least once a month. Those are a few things the Roomba doesn't do!
