as has been noted in a prior post, there are many folks out there who are own and enjoy their Montana campers .... my problem with them is the warranty period and the fact that they use press board in their construction .... Jayco is a far better company and you won't find any press board in either of their Eagle or Designer lines .... of the two, I'd go with a Jayco .... one additional note, their Eagle line is not their entry level unit, it is their mid level line .... the Eagle Light (known until recently as their JayFeather line) is their entry level unit

I have heard this mentioned many times, please explain why press board is inferior to whatever else they are using, and I would guess it is plywood ????

Both plywood and osb are held together with glue. The montana may use pressboard but its one continuous piece for the whole floor. No soggy joints to worry about.

My parents have a Montana and it has been great. They lived in for 18 months after the storm and have had no issues. I own an Everest which is also a Keystone. We have had for 4 years and lived in it as well for 1 1/2 years. No problems what so ever.

I'll take a continous slab of Structurewood for the decking over having several pieces of plywood. If we are taking exterior grade plywood then that's a hard choice, that's just my take on it.

However, I would NOT allow plywood or OSB to determine which brand I buy. They have both been proven in the construction field and it's a wash in terms of pros/cons.

Anyways my take is to get what you like. If the unit is used then likely the previous person already worked out the several quirks every new RV seems to have!!! If you buy new then Jayco is hard to beat with a 2 year warranty on their units.

The previous poster is correct, the lineup for price/features in the 5th wheel is:

Eagle Superlite
Eagle
Designer

2 DD's and my DW
6 Acre's of Maine

We sure like our Montana. It's all about what you like. We have not had any problems. Good luck!

The Jayco Designer and the Montana line are very compairable and as far as quality goes there is no such thing in the RV industry. We have the Montana 3400 but would as well have purchased the Jayco designer. It was a personal choice.
