Just ordered a 2008 GMC 2500HD Duramax, Would Bridgestone Revo's be good for towing a fifth wheel? Or any suggestions. Want to get a 2" lift out of tires/wheels.

GM puts good tires on their new trucks. Why do you want to change?

Not possible without lifting the truck. To get that 2" out of tires means no wheel well clearance. For towing a fiver, I would leave it alone unless you really need that clearance. I was LUCKY to be able to pull my fiver level without having to do anything crazy to the trailer after lifting the TV.

Yes, Brigstone Revos, Michelin LTX's or BFG AT's in an E load range are all good tire choices.

Don't forget about the wheels. You'll need to change the wheels to fit the wider tires (the taller tires are going to be wider as well).

2" of lift from a change in tires means you need a tire 4" taller than stock. That will have a dramatic affect on your final drive ratio. You'll need to change the axle gears to correct the ratio for the taller tires.

Example-

Say your truck has 3.73 gears and 31" tires on it now and you change to 35" tires.

31 / 35 = 88.5%
3.73 = 88.5% of x (x being the new axle ratio needed to correct for the tire size)
3.73 / .885 = 4.21

You would need to change to 4.10 or 4.30 gears to correct for the 4" larger than stock tires. 4.30's would be preferable to 4.10's.

I'm not convinced that a Chevy 2500 can fit a 35" tire up front without a lift kit. Some trucks can, some can't. '92-97 Ford F350 SRW 4x4's can fit a 35" tire up front with stock suspension, but the newer Fords need taller springs. I don't know how much clearance newer Chevys have up front.

In order to get a 2" lift you would have to go up in tire diameter 4". This might kill your power available to tow and it would surely change your speedometer reading.
Going up 4" in tire diameter will also fill up your wheel wells and reduce the clearance needed for hitting bumps.
Your best bet to get a 2" lift would be to raise the TV with a lift kit.

Revos are one of the best rated AT truck tires. Check out some of the comments at Tire Rack

I have the high load range Ravo's on the Excursion and I don't like them. Get a lot more life out of the BFG ATKO's or Terra Graplers. Plus the Ravo's are the most expensive. Won't be buying the Ravo's again.

What size tire/rim is your new truck coming equipped with? I still see many new Chevy's with 245 tires and 16" rims. You could probably get a 285 to fit your rim but it would be tight. 265's would be a good fit and in load range "E" you can a much stronger tire over the 245 E's.
