Thanks Larry and Lory. Now we can rest easy about the reservations but can't wait. We are thinking of going to Houston on this trip to visit my cousins maybe before hand and then maybe taking the Natchez Trail back north. It should be a fun trip.
Got our reservation in on Saturday with no problem. The social fits in perfectly with our Florida travels plans in March and April. Thanks Larry and Lory. Can't wait to meet up again.

Sandy and I are all registered as of this morning for April 19th-25th. (We hope to tag along behind Jack and Judy coming from AZ). Thanks for setting this up, Larry and Lory and we are excited to be seeing that part of the country in addition to all of you BSG'ers.
Please note Larry. I am the Julie S. who is registered. Sandy is "thoroughly" modern and has a different last name! I am bringing him along in spite of that.

Dr. John always plays a set at JazzFest in New Orleans, which is the weekend immediately after the rally (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and the weekend after that (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday). He almost always will also play at a local club or two or three (most likely Tipitina's or House of Blues) in NOLA during JazzFest weeks as well.
Carencro is about a 2-1/2 hour drive from New Orleans as I recall.
The best tip I can give to anyone is to go to Fred's Lounge in Mamou, LA on the Saturday morning after the social. There used to be a little restaurant across the street, and I'd suggest a bowl of gumbo for lunch after leaving Fred's.
Quote: World Famous Fred's Lounge
This unique institution, which has stood on the same corner for 43 years, is known far and wide as Fred's Lounge. Every Saturday morning from 9a.m. until noon, a local band plays Cajun music and people flock from all over to join in the fun and festivities. They come from as far as Canada, Belgium, West Germany, Switzerland and every state in the United States to see just what Fred's is all about. Fred opens at 7a.m. and the band starts playing at 9a.m. but by 9:00 it's standing room only, as revelers pack into the small lounge to listen and dance.
I just signed us up for the BEE social group. Looking forward to meeting old friends and meeting new ones. We will probably be in the area for a couple weeks, as my best friend lives in Hammond, I love the N.O. area and traveled the entire state for 15 years during my working years. My wife has never been to the area and I have so many places I want to show her.
