To make your decision a little easier, Heartland discontinued the 3210 for 2010. Look at their new 3010. I've looked at both the Cyclone 3010 and the Keystone Raptor 300MP. The Cyclone is nice with the sliding patio door to the garage. You can easily see the kids and it makes the inside feel much bigger than the Raptor's 36 inch door.
I'm leaning towards the Cyclone. The build quality looks much better and I currently own a keystone product.

All,

I have read the posts, and I am still at the same dillema 302 vs 3210. We like the interior of the Fuzion better, but I still am skeptical of the how close the load rating is to the coach's GVWR. I read a couple of posts about the three axle vs two. Currently I have a Coachman Denali 5W that has the second axle twist a bit when you back it into tight spots. Will this be worse with the Cyclone three axle?

Also, heard a lot of good about the Fuzion's interior. The dinette table looks pretty small in the 302. Anbody out there have a family of 4 or 5 and can you get everyone around the table at meal time?

Any Cyclone owners out there really loving their coach? I am leaning towards the Cyclone, but this forum may be changing my mind.

Thanks for your time.

Gump

I'm in the same decision process. I looked at the Fuzion 302, the Cyclone 3010, and an' '09 3210. Tough choices. I finally settled on the Cyclone 3010. I should get it in a few days.

The Fuzion looks awesome and has great features, but the dual 6K axles have me a bit worried. Keystone calculates the pin weight to the GVWR to increase the CCC. The Cyclone 3010 has dual 7K axles and they don't count the pin load in the gross rating, so it is in reality a 2K more capable unit.

The 3210 has triple 6K axles. Giving a gross of 18K not including pin. Considering that it only weighs a bit over 11K dry, it is seriously load capable. Almost overbuilt IMO, if that's possible.

Ultimately, I liked the layout of the 3010 better than the other two . . . especially the all-enclosed separate bathroom. I didn't care for the shower and sink in the bedroom with the 3210 or the Fuzion 302. I do wish the 3010 had a loft though. And, although ideally I wish it were a triple axle, I'm not too worried about the double 7K axle of the 3010 for the load capacity I'll be hauling. I'll still have 2500 lbs CCC on the axles alone. I would worry that I may push the capacity on the Fuzion for my needs.

you will be happy in the Cyclone. I also looked at the Fuzion when trying to make a decision but after going to the dealer a bunch of times something kept me away. It had a lot of bells and whistles, and a lot of cool gadgets, and was cheaper, but something in my head said stay away. I really think it was the color options of the interior. They where a little to flashy for my taste, but I know many like them. for me it was between the Cyclone and the KZ New Vision. Cyclone won due to the half bath and 2nd fridge in the garage. By the way, I do live in my cyclone 3950 and really do enjoy it, no complaints!

I agree about the colors. The racy Fuzion colors are pretty cool and sporty, but a bit flashy for me also. That 3950 is an amazing floorplan. I loved it, but was intimidated by it's size. Hauling it around for quick weekend jaunts or getting into smaller campsites worried me a bit. If I lived it in full-time it wouldn't be a question, I would have picked the 3950 in a heartbeat. I love that trailer.

I just checked out your picture of it on your profile. Very nice. How well does your Chevy 1 ton handle it?

It handles it ok. No problem pulling it through Texas flat lands but not sure I would want to be in the mountains with it. Braking seems really good, and have the rear bagged. First time I towed it the dealer had the tanks 3/4 full and you could tell. I tow it empty with about 1/4 tank of fresh water and seems to do well. No problem getting in to places. Pretty happy with the combo. I know a dually would be much better, but cant really drive that as a daily with my job and know the one ton is marginal, but I drive like an old man so all is good!

Hey all,

I'd really appreciate some more feedback. Thanks so far for all the great info...
We're considering selling our current toy hauler and looking at buying a 35ft in actual length or less 5th wheel toy hauler, with separate garage.
I plan on keeping the same tow rig (see sig).
This Fuzion 302 looks great. We really liked everything about it. With the real world posts of weights from an earlier post, I'm a little on the fence about these dual 6k axles.
Do I just have to settle for dual axles in order to keep the weight down enough so it's "safe" to tow with SRW trucks? Seems to be.
This 2010 Cyclone 3010 is now only a 2 axle hauler instead of the 3 axle 09 version. The gvwr is posted at 14k on this Cyclone now, so even though the axles are rated for more weight than the Fuzion 6k axles, the CCC is less on the 2010 Cyclone, right? Isn't this kind of a step backwards for them in comparison to the Fuzion?

Are there any other quality rigs out there that I'm missing (< or = 35ft)...?
Thanks all!

Manke,

The higher GVWR (and thus CCC) of the dual 6K Fuzion 302 is simply a function of the manufacturer including the hitch weight into the gross. The Cyclone bases their GVWR on the axles alone - giving the GVWR only 14K. If they included the hitch weight it would have a GVWR of 16,500. Either way, clearly a dual 7K axle rig can handle more weight than a dual 6K axle - regardless of what the sticker says.

Does a dual-axle rig offer enough CCC for a toy-hauler? It really boils down to the unit's intended purpose. What are your needs? For a couple, or small family, with a pair of dirt bikes or a quad, it's more than enough. I have a 500 lb Ducati - no problem. Even four small kids dirt bikes weigh only about 800 lbs. But of course, if you need more capacity you probably would need to bump up to a larger unit with triple 6K axles.

Remember though, the real limiting factor will be your tow vehicles GCWR. For my Ram 3500, the GCWR is 23,000. With full fuel, hitch and passengers my TV weighs in at 8,400 lbs. That leaves 14,600 lbs that I'm able to safely tow behind it before I'm over my max combined rating. So, in terms of the trailer's cargo capacity, it's kind of a moot point. Just because you may have an 18K gross trailer, doesn't mean you can safely load it to 18K. The advantage of the triple axle IMO has more to do with towing stability and stopping ability than with CCC.
