To bad, I thought some foreign competition in the one ton field, might have improved our domestic trucks. Looks like the foreign makers couldn't even make it past the 1/2 ton. On the bright side congratulations to the Americans for producing a product the foreign makers can't compete with.
2003 Jayco 308fbs eagle 33' tt, towed by a 2003 Ram 3500 slt, quad cab dually, cummins diesel ho, trailer towing package, with 6 speed manual. Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. I have added so far, neon lights, clearance lights, back up lights, black light, lift kit, mud tires, and everything necessary to make the golf cart street legal. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. I personally like the looks of them, and the durability of Toyota is famous. But, for the price and fuel economy, they just didn't match up enough I guess in the market with gas prices like they are.
Too bad. It might have been good competition if the prices were lower.
If I don't meet your expectations
Maybe you should lower your standards.

Production was suspended due to fuel prices slowing sales, not that there was anything wrong with the truck. Toyota still builds a product superior to the domestic manufacturers, but now they, too, have been hit by the slowed market due to high fuel prices. Although I don't own a truck, give me a Toyota anytime over the big 3, and when it comes re-sale time I'll be able to show you just one of my reasons why.

Because his title fits his agenda. He acts like no GM/Ford/Cerebus plant has ever been shut down or had a slowdown. I wonder how Toyota is treating the workers at the plant at Texas. That's where this hurts, at the local level.
I read the link, production in Indiana will be switched to the Highlander, and production in Texas will be stopped for 3 months on August 8. At least the folks in Indiana get to keep working.

It's tough for all the truck makers out there right now. Even for the All Mighty Toyota that can do no wrong.
