Once again we have info posted that is wrong. Champion does not nor has it ever put out a inverter model genset. Here is a link to all of champions gensets and you can see for yourself. Duro power does put out both types but considering the customer service and quality of the machines I got from them, twice, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. First genset didn't work right so after a long phone arguement they sent me another one that still "didn't" work right. All at my expense in shipping them back. I've chalked up the experience as a lesson learned and now own a nice $300.00+ boat anchor.lol
No one in Dallas will touch the Kipor? I find that hard to believe. Find an RV dealer that sells them and I bet you that they will service them. BTW, my Kipor has ran great for three seasons now. The only trouble was my fault and my local RV dealer fixed it, no problem, and I didn't even buy it from him.

Kipors , actually have a decent reputation, but there were some problems with the exhaust pipe touch and melting the plastic and that could be fire hazard on that model, my understanding of the latest model was 'that the problem had been corrected' and was no longer a threat/concern
You didn't mention how much generator power you needed? You mentioned Onans - which can be high watts and you mentioned Honds - which can mean much lower watts.
One of the finest "small" generators ever made was the Honda EX650, which I believe was discontinued in 1998 or 1999 after a run of many years. You can find them used in the price range of $250 to $350 and most likely still running superbly. These are excellent for running lights, small appliances, and charging batteries .... and are almost as quiet (within 1 dB) at full power as the new little inverter Hondas are at idle. Unlike the new Hondas, the EX650 has a steel case. Mine recently sat for 4-5 years and started on the 2nd pull. They'll run at least 7-8 hours on 1/2 gallon of fuel.

Yup. We are solar, but our little EX650 fills in when under trees or clouds. Wish we still had the Little Litton 500W microwave.
