We stayed in Yellowstone in late June several years back and we got snow! We were tenting and we froze our butts off! Totally worth it though - it's one of our favorite places on Earth (and we only have a few!). We plan to go back when the kids are older and totally cannot wait!!! Just dress in layers, as someone else mentioned, and you'll be fine.
Have fun!

I hope you're right. We're originally from the midwest but living in SoCal has made us a bit wimpy with the cooler temps.
Being another weather wimp from SoCal I can offer this: we went this time last year and we had rain several evenings. Not bad, but you could get wet. So at night, we wore hooded sweatshirts with light wind breaker type overs to keep the rain off. I don't get cold very often, the most I did was wear long pants and a light wind breaker. Daytime was warm for us and it was shorts...but always take sweatshirts because that can change in a minute. We stayed at FB and a few nights when I was just sitting, after everyone else had turned in, I resorted to the hooded sweatshirt to sit outside. We did carry heavy jackets but never needed them. Had I not taken them, we would have needed them, but that's how it goes with me.

We are here right now in Yellowstone and having a fantastic time. In the past two weeks it's been cool nights ranging from 40-60 and days vary from 65-80.
We wear layers and carry a knapsack with the extras. Shorts or light pants for the day with teeshirts and extra layers for the evening. BRING BUG SPRAY FOR THE MOSQUITOS.
You are more than welcome to check out our website for where we've seen the bears, etc. They tend to stick in the same places
