I have grown tired of working the old tongue jack and have started looking at powered jacks - any advice on brands either to stay away from or to look for? Mt tongue weight is listed at 865 lbs.

Thanks

I've had a Barker and now have an Atwood. Both are excellent..Can't go wrong either way....certainly both are better than the hand crank!
Go for one rated at 3000 or 3500 lbs.
Don't pay to have it installed. It's a piece of cake.

I had an AltraFab 3500 on the tt I just sold. Always hated it. Like an electric jack, just not that one. Really week and never could seem to keep it's ground.

I've had a barker for over 20 years and finally bought a new one. the old one has been on three TTs and still going strong. Down the road is right get the biggest you can afford and one thing about the big one is if you ever get a larger TT you can take it with you. Do not throw away the hand crank one, put it back on when you sell it.

The AltraFab was the third one I put on my tt in four years. I always carried the hand crank with me just incase I needed it on the road.

Another vote for Barker. For the difference in price, I got the 3500, very happy I did. It has to lift the tt and the rear of your tv. Good unit.

I have an Ultra Fab and it has been flawless for 3 years so far. I do put a plastic bag over it during the rainy season. They also have a great reputation for excellent customer service.
