I think it was a figure of speech........ he could have been a super bowl champ, BUT HE FUMBLED.
I agree as well, the money the cowboys spent on the rest of the team, made Romo..look good.......
But that goes for all teams..... its more than the QB.. or any one player..... You can have a bad QB and have him still look good..Or a Very good QB and he can llok bad..

That's correct Rob.
Favre makes his team look good, Romo is bush league without his backs and receivers. Especially after doofus Romo was tackled while blowing the final down running in the play offs two seasons ago.....he sat down and started bawling, he's a loser. No wonder he wears his helmet backwards! LOL!
Yeah the Packers always looked great whenever Favre choked and threw an Int to blow a game.
You still haven't said why you call him punk trash. I think that is just envy talking. He is a good player, a great guy and he has fun playing the game. I'll wager he has never taken drugs that he picked out of his own vomit to swallow again. Why is he trash and not drug addict Favre?
I've been around for over 30 years watchting pro football, and have seen all
the great QB's, and all the great games. I have PSL's at Oakland, for years.
I can contribute some sense here, I have no dog in this fight.
First off, Romo couldn't shine Favre's shoes.
But Aiken is on the same level of Favre, no question there.
And please don't say Oakland could use a QB, they have the number 1 pick from
last year starting this year, and the number 4 pic (RB McFadden) which will
WOW the league soon enough.

I'm wondering when the Cowboy babies will bring up Staubach?
Remember Jerry Jones lovers.....Dallas has not won a playoff game since 1996. Not even one! I know this because I only watch Dale Hansen on WFAA Channel 8. Dale is the only objective local sportscaster unlike the long list of "homers" in DFW, kissing up to Jerry Jones.
Now listen Jumbo, Brett Favre wants to give it one more shot somewhere, even though Dale Hansen bashed him for it on sports Weds. night on Channel 8.......can you blame Brett for trying? Give the guy a break already......

LOL, yeah all he has done is break several Cowboys records and go something like 19 and 6(don't have the exact numbers in front of me) in his first season and a half. It's a bit early to say he can't shine anyones shoes. It's also early to crown him as Hall of Famer, but remember it was Packers fans who first brought his name up in this thread remember? Now why was that? A little insecurity I think.

Lets see Skid Mark, Aikman was brought up because you claimed the Cowboys would have loved to have had Favre in his prime and someone rightfully laughed at you and pointed out we had Aikman and 3 championships and a 9-2 record against the Pack when they were both in their prime.
Romo was brought up by another Packers fan for some reason. No one had mentioned Romo or the Cowboys at that point. Seems like you guys are the ones who can't let it go.
I couldn't care less if Favre wants to play, I'll enjoy seeing him extend his interceptions record and getting carted off the field a few more times. I just get sick of hearing about how tough he was, how many games he started in a row, when the only reason he was able to do it was a serious drug addiction. The vast majority of players in the NFL are able to play through the pain without becoming a junkie. THOSE are the tough guys, not some guy who took 20 Vicodin a night for years because he couldn't handle pain.
What I'm going to go on record is this; Romo was a back-up QB for Dallas, he accidentally got the starting job by default, and got lucky, 'cause he had good backs and receivers....same as Aikman had good receivers.
Romo is a nobody, a poser with a fat contract and good backs and receivers, he played for Who Cares State College somewhere up north. He's playing above his head, and he's going down. He could not care less about his paid-job with Dallas, once landing that front-loaded guaranteed contract with Jerry Jones. He's a side-show with that GF of his anyway. And he was absent last week, electing to play golf, where he belongs, and where he's headed back to, IMO.
How and why Favre got his Hall of Fame record, who cares? Is he the first illegal drug taker in NFL history? Duh, no. He just wants to play. Again, I ask, can you blame him for wanting one more shot somewhere?
Joe
I'm right with you on this one (for a change). Romo hasn't arrived yet, pure
and simple. To say otherwise just means you are a die-hard Cowboy fan.
Nothing wrong with that. But it takes years to become a Favre type QB, as one
year does not make a wonder boy (except maybe in the movies).
Favre is a tough guy, ala Bradshaw. Only smarter LOL
