Used the new 2153 (3cu.ft.) fridge this weekend for the first time. Worked fine... lost of cold food and drinks in Colorado Rockies. :-) But I do have acouple questions:
1. It was on propane all weekend from Friday 4PM til Sunday morning 11AM. If my LPG tank guage is accurate it used 1/2 30lb tank. Is that possible? Wowser!
2. We always (well at least twice now) camp without hook ups. SO no elec hook-up for us all weekend. Trailer has one 12v battery in good shape. Last weekend sans the new Dometic, we came home with plenty of batt left. This weekend with new Dometic installed and running we were dead batt this morning just after showers... :-) so not a problem but would Dometic electronics need much juice especially when the (lpg) source never changed...
Thanks guys... as always the help I find here enhances the camping pleasure...
Your 30 lb has 7 gallons of LP. NO, your Dometic did not use 3 1/2 gallons over 3 days. I have NEVER found a portable LP cylinder gauge that is close to accurate. No, the electronics on your Dometic would not drain the battery, UNLESS, your model has the optional 12 volt fan on the back coil. Doug
On my 6 cubic foot Dometic, I figure a pound or two of LP a day, and less than 10 AH's per day for the electronics and the solenoid. I suspect something else is the problem.
No the frige does not use that much LPG, check your gauge for accuracy or look for leaks.
