Driving home from the store today, I happened to notice a Class A headed the other way on the highway . . . . not a big deal, as this a major east/west highway, but I'm thinking that they didn't realize their main slide was about 1 foot extended! There was no way I could turn around and catch him, so I only hope he realized before it fully deployed!

Yikes! I've heard of things like that before, but never saw them myself!

I'll be keeping an eye on the local papers!

I saw a lady make a right turn onto a main street, and her drivers side rear door came fully open. Luckily nothing came flying out. Strange.

We had a guy make a right turn some years ago on a freeway (Ramping from w/b to n/b and HE came out (Drunker than a skunk)

Then his truck, devoid of driver, did what vehicles are designed to do, IT went STRAIGHT, Blump-de-blump over the curb, Over the brem and ALLI-OPPS onto the freeway below.. Right on top of a car. Killing 2 people.

SEAT BELTS SAVE LIVES FOLKS.

Maybe they had to open it a bit so they could get to the bathroom.

OR, maybe it was jammed and they were fully aware of it.

I'd go with probably not retracting fully and he bypassed the safety switch so he could get home or at least to a dealer.

Bet his MPG went right down the tubes with that extra drag and the aerodynamics all screwed up. I too opt for equipment problem and just trying to get home or to a dealer for repair. I would think that would really mess up your ability to use rear view mirrors on that side.

I remember the time we pulled off at a rest stop for lunch. Cleaned up and started out and saw our dinette slide was still extended. Scared the jeebees out of me. Now I do the once look over before jumping back in the pickup.

Happy trails,

Past Friday night we saw a motor home with it's front generator slide tray partially open. He pulled out from a side street and was going the same direction as us, so we slowed down. But he made a right turn before he got to us and there was nothing we could do.
