I know this is a weird question. Our friends recently lost their little minpin. They loved Bully to distraction.

She keeps saying she hears his nails clicking on the floor; I sort of attributed this to her grief.

Three or four days ago she vacuumed the entire house and cleaned the carpets. A couple days ago, she was standing at the sink and she said a piece of dog food came out of nowhere and hit her on the leg. At this point, I was still thinking maybe she's just a little out of it due to all the crying she's been doing.

But yesterday, her husband was in the bedroom and she heard him yell. She went in, and in Bully's favorite spot, there was a pile of vomit. Bully was quite sick at the end.

She has cleaned ALL the carpets, including closets. Are they both hallucinating the same thing? How can both of them imagine a pile of vomit that has to be cleaned up? (I did not see it.)

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced such a thing. I just told them they need to sit down in Bully's 'spot' and tell him it's okay to move on and that they need to release him. What else can I do to help them?

yes you may think it weird, but also had a dog try to communicate with me. I was on a ship on tour and there was a medium aboard, he was giving reading. He came up with a greeting from My deceased FIL. with him was a black and white fluffy dog that was jumping up and down and pulling on the medium pant leg. I have never been a believer in this stuff until I heard the things from this medium, there was no way he could have known the things he told us. He even came up with names. this is truly scary. was to me any way.

Oh yeah, I've been haunted! Its great. They need to understand that Bully is trying to let them know "I'm still here, I haven't really left you." Which is fine. He doesn't need to leave, now that he's in energy he can stay as long as he likes, go everywhere with them, and keep an eye on them.

And all he really wants, is to see them smile instead of crying. But that sometimes takes a while...

Its all coincidence, grief can do that, no reason to tell them otherwise though.

I've often missed the people &/or pets who have "gone before" so much that I feel/sense their presence around me. I am not a big believer in ghosts but I do think that loved ones spirits live on in our memories & hearts.....

Because of this we often dream about them, long for them, perhaps even hear them or smell them (I sometimes smell my mom's perfume as odd as that sounds) and yes even swear we can feel them near us. I think my heart is longing for my mom so much that my other senses kick in to overdrive and "bring" very vivid memories, almost an essence of her to comfort myself.... if that makes any sense.

This could be the case with your friends.... or not. In this very complex world we humans can't claim to know everything.

There is a wonderful book on the subject that I suggest your friends get called "Animals and the Afterlife" by Kim Sheridan. I stumbled across the author's website after we lost our first golden in 1998. At that time, she was still collecting stories for the book and mine is included. I've e-mailed her back and forth a few times, too. In full disclosure, I have no other connection to the book or its proceeds.

Animals and the Afterlife

I highly suggest it for anyone who has lost a precious furbaby. It helped me alot.
