I have a partial picture of a good-sized stainless-steel Spartan brand 5er from the early '80s. I was going through family photo albums of my folk's motorcoaching travel in the entire West and in Mexico from the 1980s.
Looking for any pictures of such a TT that anyone may know about them. They were probably not even "5ers" back then......perhaps they were called "goosenecks?"
The one I have a picture of belonged to a couple from Yucca Valley, CA in the mid-1980s. They pulled it with a crew-cab Chevy 2500 or 3500 crew cab pick up. The picture was taken in San Carlos, Mexico, down the coastline on the Sea of Cortez in about 1985.
All the people in and taking the pictures have long since passed away, so there's no one to follow-up with on the Spartan that was there. I am intrigued with the unit, and would certainly like to learn more about the 5er model(s) that Spartan may have made back then.
Thanks!
I have a sweet tender nature, however I enjoy sharing my thoughts and opinions.
My dad worked at Spartan Aircraft/Mobile Homes from '42 till '60. In '60 all assembly line were closed. I was a senior in HS that year and along with several other employees sons worked that last summer helping to close the old plant down. I don't think Spartan built a GN type unit as there was never a line for that product. If its stainless steel its not a Spartan product. I notice many reforbished Spartans are polished. New ones come only in mill finish aluminum with a tough coat clear spray covering.
Thanks for the web w...rider. Good memories from long ago for me.
