Am new to the group. Hi All.
I prefer "dry" camping while the wife prefers having electric hookup all the time.
I need an alternative heat source for my steelhead trips in fall and spring.
Want to add an Olympian heater to my 19' Coachmen but cannot decide on Wave 3 or Wave 6.
Have heard many opinions on which would work best in keeping a trailer this size warm and toasty. Don't want to go overboard if I don't have too.
Anyone have experience with either?? Or even an alternative??
Thanks.

Hi

Another option is to install a Gas Latern to your TT, in years past several TT came with these lights and they not only provided great light but too the chill off during the late evenings and early mornings. There area few posts in the Vintage TT section on getting new versions of these old lights. You may also may want to look into a furnance that doesn't require a blower, typically smaller TT just have a wall furnace that doesn't have any ducts or blowers.

One warning about any of these gas appliances, make sure you keep a roof vent or a window open to get sufficient oxygen into the TT, would not want to see you get gassed.

the small Mr buddy heater would work, it keeps our 24fter warm or go with the big buddy and turn it down on low, the big buddy has a blower that makes a difference in blowing heat around warming things up quicker.we use both, you can use the small tanks of gas or hook it up to larger bulk tanks like a 20lber with the hose you can get.the mr buddy is much cheaper then the wave heaters.

I also recommend the "Mr Buddy" I used one in my 38' DP. It kept it warm without drawing down the battery. But you must leave a window open about 1" or so.

Appreciate the quick responses.
Have looked at the Big Buddy system and wonder how noisey it might be.
Fully aware of the ventilation required for these systems.
Trailered as a youngster with parents 50 years ago and we did use the gas lights mentioned. I remember learning how to change the mantles. Our old Shasta back then didn't have forced air heating.
I have used my old Coleman lantern but that is noisey and is best for evening but the wife wants the trailer warm all night.
If the Big Buddy keeps a 25' trailer warm enough would the Wave 3 suffice for my 19 'er?? Can you keep the Big Buddy going all night with the outside tank??

I bought a "Blue Flame" ventless heater off the Internet for our 26' toyhauler and like it. It has five settings and I kept it on 2 to keep the chill off because I don't like it warm for sleeping so probably #5 would be toasty. I think I paid around 100 bucks for it...

We have a 32' TT and use the smaller Mr. Buddy heater. It does a great job in warming up the inside to a comfortable temp. One test run it was 35 outside and inside it was 65. Maybe that is not toasty enough for DW, but it was plenty warm for us with our slippers and robes on.

I kept a tent warm with the Big Buddy for up to four nights in 25 to 30 degree temps with one 20 pound tank. Can't remember how much fuel I had left.

It was quiet but the only downfall was it was "wet" in a tent. Had to keep extra clothes in another non heated tent.

We got the smaller Mr. Buddy heater and it kept us warm this last spring. We have a 26.5' TT. Won't leave home without it. If I get a chance I will get the Big Buddy.

One note on the Buddy heaters. If you use 20# bottle get the filter they sell, or make sure you turn off the gas and let the heater burn out by itself. If you don't, the control will fill with oil from the LP and you will have to replace it. Read the manual that comes with the heater. I didn't and the valve is kind of expensive.
