Getting ready to go fulltiming and hate to leave my very expensive (gift from wife) leather recliner behind. I would like to install it in the coach in lieu of the leather (not so comfortable) recliner / ottoman that came with the Dutch Star. Anyone ever done this ? Problems I see are width when underway, getting it into the coach, and securing it . It needs some repair so am considering having the furniture repair man disassemble it some (since he needs to do so anyway) and then put it back together inside the coach after he repairs it.
Anyone ever done this ? Tips ?
Thanks.

Most of the recliners i have had over the years, the back will come off if pulled straight up.

We had a chair my wife really preferred from home in our TT. It worked out just fine. Just installed a love seat built for home use in our MH this weekend. Had to take the entry door out to get it in but once in it fit just fine. I see no problem with doing the same with a recliner.
And like the previous poster I have seen many that the back just slides off. Shouldn't be a problem to get it in.

We have 2 Lazy Boy recliners in our coach, instead of the factory furniture, which we both like much better. On the Lazy Boy line, just lift the back straight up and it will fit through the door fine fine, in 2 pieces. There are 2 locks on the sides, near the bottom that may be engaged, but ours were not locked.

Don't have a MH, but have replaced the RV furniture in our last 2 5th wheels. We buy Lazy Boy products for the comfort and weight. We have the Lazy Boy recline-away in both the Love seat and the recliner. Have never found any RV furniture that wasn't very heavy and totally uncomfortabe. Will not buy another 5th wheel with the funiture. Also the backs are removeable, and only takes a couple of minutes to get them into the 5er. GBY....

The folks at recent MonacoRally did that very thing. Simply 'unbolt' the back/Footrest(Ha!!). Find 4 people with a strong back. And by the way, recliners in Motorhomes are not bolted down anyway. Move it where you want to. TOM

We took the stupid "J" couch out of our NorthernStar and replaced it with a regular house recliner. We turn it sideways in the slide while traveling.
The slide floor is higher than coach floor when it is open, so DH bolted wood blocks on the front legs. This way it sits level when we are parked.

I put a Eurorecliner into our previous coach and it was a very tight fit getting it through the door. It worked and we swapped it back when we traded up. Being comfortable is very important.

I just replaced my spring steel sofa bed with two recliners. Back of sofa just slid right up/out. Recliners had two latches on back that are visable when the back lower part of the cover is lifted up at bottom. Went right in the door with no hassle and easy to put back together. Sold sofa with one phone call for my asking price.

USMC46....the posts spell out what you undoubtedly learned a long time ago.... improvise, adapt, overcome and do whatever it takes.
Get that chair into the rig and enjoy.
