We ordered our DSDP without the sofa and chair. Two La-Z-Boy wall-away recliners and a small chest for mine made it very comfortable. DH has the factory installed chest/table by his.

They are not fastened down and even in a couple of full-bore panic stops they didn't move.

BTW, we got a credit from the factory for the furniture we didn't take.

I would bolt them down though or install "storm Chains" to the floor/frame. Even if the mfg co does not I hate to thing about that weight coming at my back at 60mph! Might be just me though.

We replaced the original lounge chair in our coach with a LazyBoy. As others have said the back will easily come off to get it through the door. In our case the original was bolted to the floor so it wouldn't move while under way.

I was able to switch the bases without any problems. The mounting bolts were in exactly the same positions. (I believe the original chair was a low end LazyBoy without any identification tag). Now we can bolt down the new chair in the same spot as the original and move it out once we are stopped.

Ditto about removing the back from any LazyBoy chair. We replaced our uncomfortable sofa sleeper with a LazyBoy recliner. It is more practicle to go with the "narrow width" recliners than the big regular ones. Our big ones we have in our house would just take up too much space. Also. I used one of the bolts that came up through the slide where the sofa was and was the secure bolt for the safety belts. I attached both ends of the safety belts like it they were attached before to this bolt and ran the buckle around the lower side member on the back of the chair. This way in a very sudden stop, the chair doesn't go flying-plus the belt is adjustable.
