A co-worker said to open two windows in your TT (one on each side) to reduce sway. I guess the theory is that if a semi passes you, or wind is blowing against the side, it has a "relief" point to blow through to the other side.

I am a bit skeptical, as I have never heard this before. Does anyone know if this actually helps?

NO! That is about ridiculous! I swear, sometimes I don't see where people come up with stuff like this.

Are you sure your co-worker isn't pulling your leg?

You are wise to be a "bit skeptical." About the only thing this will accomplish is to get the inside of your rig full of road dirt and maybe wind damage your window coverings. If you are getting that much sway, look elsewhere...not at your windows.

This is the same co-worker who will tell you to change you oil every 2000 miles.

I would imagine you'd need some massive windows for this to work.

Sway is diminished or reduced by the use of a properly matched tow vehicle, a good friction or cam type properly set up sway control system, (or a PullRite/Hensley type hitching system) and a trailer that is properly load balanced with correct tire air pressure.

Sway can be felt when a big vehicle passed you, when there are crosswinds, over correcting your steering and road surface irregularities. I wish it were as simple as opening windows or waving a magic wand, but it ain't that easy! You may have to contact a good hitch shop to solve any continuing issues. Good luck!

I would expect that the only results would be multiple broken/missing windows. How do these bizarro ideas get started anyway?

The same way, in a tornado, you're supposed to open all your windows to equalize the pressure. NOT!

Yes, it really does help! And if you ever find yourself free falling in an elevator, jump up just before the elevator car smashes to the ground and you'll save yourself.
