First, we should define "sway", as related to a trailer, and "wind wander" as related to a trailer.
SWAY is a moderate to severe, nearly uncontrollable, whipping back and forth by a trailer. Once you have actually had it, you will know what it is.
Wind wander is what you get when passed by a big truck, or a bus, or when you enter or leave a cut through a hill when a stiff cross wind is blowing. It can be scary.
Sway is caused by an unbalanced load or improperly inflated tires or a poorly built trailer. If a trailer DOES have a sway problem, find the cause and fix it, THEN install a sway control if you think you need it.
The best built, most perfectly balanced trailer in the world, riding on perfect tires, with the best hitch and sway control available, will STILL be subject to wind wander. Even a Class A DP will be subject to wind wander. there is just no avoiding it.
I hope you never have a REAL sway problem. I have, with a poorly built flatbed trailer. It is incredibly frightening!

The only thing you will accomplish with open windows is having the screens ripped out.

You'll get a TT full of dirt and broken stuff. The proper equipment works much better.

Rather than open the windows, a better idea is to install a drag 'chute on the back of your TT. Then, when the sway begins to get out of hand, deploy the 'chute to stabilize the TT.

Alternatively, add hydraulic flaps along the sides and adjust them as you drive to controll sway.

If that was true, then an open trailer such as a landscape trailer would never sway!!!

How about using a better sway control hitch instead? Let me ask you this. Do you use a sway control hitch to blow a fresh breeze on you? No. So why would someone use an open window to control trailer sway???

I also heard if you open a rear window and release the pressure, while keeping front windows closed, you will get two more mpg from the difference in pressure.

In theory it would work in equalizing the pressure variance on opposite sides of the trailer (reduces the suction effect due to passing vehicles). Practically though the SF opening percentage is too small to make a difference.

Some of these people must stay up at night dreaming up these stories....

and to help braking, open a front window and close the back window. This works much better in the winter since the cold air is denser and therefore heavier.
