WOW! Maybe I was wrong..."more work"? That is not what I am looking for. It seems to be that there have been many posters praising full body paint! I would like to hear first hand from anyone who has full body paint. I can say that my front and rear end caps need alot of upkeep to keep them shiney! The side walls seem to hold shine much better. The gelcoat on my unit can certainly stain easier and require more work to clean than my cars.

Full body paint with clearcoat is much easier to keep clean. Try xtremegraphics.net (Nacogdoches TX) for some ideas. They are top of the line for a paint job to the tune of $17K and a month to do the work...

I have the 2008 Southwind with full body paint. You could stop at a SW dealer and get a brochure. They have several color combinations. Ours is the Black, silver and gray. Very easy to clean. I use the spotless ICE car wash.

Full body paint is way easier. Gelcoat that is aged gets porous and it just doens't shine as well. Go to an RV lot and ook at 10 year old FBP coaches and ones with gelcoat. The stored inside gelcoats will till look good, but most of us do not have that luxury.
The thing is, will it be worth the expense?

The Fact is that Newer units that have Full Paint Jobs are just cleaner and shinier for now ! Give them 10 Years they will be Faded Too!
Don't New Owners just naturally keep Their Rigs cleaner?
Spoken like someone without a clue about FBP.
Believe me, once you have it you would never even consider owning a non-FBP coach.
Fade in 10 years? Another obvious statement you have no idea what todays base coat/clear coat systems are all about.
Easier to clean, easier to care for, easier to take care of light scratches. No full body paint? No thanks.
There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

If I wasn't planning on upgrading sometime in the future, I'd definitely take the plunge for a full body paint job.

As far as design, we copied a rig we saw that we liked. We took a digital picture and photoshopped the graphics onto it, tweaked it, and now we know what we're going to paint.
It is simply a fact (yes I like facts) that factory gelcoat sucks, and automotive finishes last forever - PERIOD.
Gelocat is soft and not nearly as UV resistant as automotive clears.
Get a surface microscope and you will find most gelcoat is already decomposing ON THE LOT.
Even if you don't want FBP, just scuff your rig with scotchbrite and get the whole thing clearcoated.
Imron, and others, are polyurethanes and are the most durable you could hope to use.

Hello
We have a 10 year old fiberglass coach. The bottom or basement is painted and looks like new.I have given up on trying to keep up with the fiberglass and graphics. Don't buy the fact that a full body paint won't be like new 10 years down the road. GO FOR IT!!!!!
