Wow! It's BLAZING here in South Texas...triple digit temperatures daily!

I'm considering installing some kind of window tint film or some other type of material on my RV's windows to help keep it cooler.

Has anyone had success with this or anything else which will help cool things off a bit?

Looking forward to some sage advice !

If you mist the windows with water, aluminum foil will stick right to it. Reflects the light really well. Then, later, you just pill it back off.

MIke, do you put it on the outside or inside? Our windows are tinted, but we could use some extra help during the hotest part of the day. Knox, we are in Rockport and feel your pain!!!

tint works realy well to help keep out the sun and heat.lowes has many differant kinds and tints to choose from unless you have some one else do it for you, also insulated curtains and keeping them closed on the sunny side.home made storm windows of plexiglass work well also in heat and cold.

I put it on the inside. It served dual purposes for me. I never know if I am going to work day or night shift. Easier to sleep with the the alum on the windows and easier to cool.

Look for a Low-E (emissivity) film that is designed for use on double pane windows. This is much better than just tint. The Low-E films block infra-red radiation (heat) and keep things cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

My truck has limo-tint( 80%) on all windows except the windshield(naturally). I use a folding cardboard sun-shield for that. When I use the cardboard, the interior temperature is really noticably cooler when we return. My truck is black, which heats up quickly, but the tint seems to keep the cab cooler in that blazing TX,NM,AZ,FL sun.

For my former Class C, I went to the auto parts store and bought the darkest tint that they had. Put it on all of the windows (including the cab windows) except for the windshield. Will probably do the same to my new MH too.

I also fashioned a pair of 'shades' from a windshield sun screen. Attached three spots of velcro to the door frame and on the shades and now I also have sun screens for the cab windows as well as the windshield.
