We bought a 2008 Starcraft 36RT last week. We have been looking at them for over 1 year & just bit the bullett. Mu husband left the next
day for an already planned fishing trip. They had a great time.
We opted for the larger one because of all the amenities & we will buy 4 weelers in the future. We have tent-camped for 17 years but I
have not tent-camped for several years...I'm too old!! My husband &
8 year old daugher take yearly fishing trips. We also have a 3 year
old & are looking forward to our new adventures!

I would love ANY advice & tips. It has a stand-up shower, potty, microwave, AC/heater & generator & comes with heated mattress covers
(haha who would have thought)? Mu husband could have done without all
this but he knew I would enjoy the perks!

We always vacation in the mountains...Northern NM & Colorado but usually rent cabins. VERY expensive so it limits the number of vacations. I'll post picts soon.

We are planning a week lomg trip mid Aug.
So glad I found this site. Thanks!

Good for you guys...congratulations! Hope you have many safe and rewarding adventures! And don't kid yourself..the hubby loves the indoor stove, real bathroom, refrigerator and "heated" beds as much as you do!

And StarCraft is one of my favorite brands, 105 years old, with good customer service, great RV's, unexcelled quality and managed by Jayco...my favorite RV company!

WOW from roughing it to luxury camping.
heated sheets, shower, inside plumbing talk about "movin on up".
Sounds like a trailer one could be envious of, If one were envious.

One thing that folks adding ATVs or heavy loads to the deck have to watch is the tongue weight. With the 36 it can go over 1000 pounds. Make sure your TV is up to taking the maximum and you have the correct WD hitch for the weight.

I would suggest inspecting the wiring beneath the trailer. On my 13RT, I found one wire that was strung across the point of a floor screw and several more stretched tight around sharp metal edges through the frame. Also, the brake wires hung below and to the front of the axle where they were vulnerable to snags.

I ended up rewiring the entire trailer, but that's overkill. Just add some extra wire clamps where it sags and a section of wireloom where it chafes against the frame. Same goes for the water lines.

Congratulations on your purchase and have fun!

Your going to love the 36RT. We have had ours for over a year and wouldn't trade it for anything. Plenty of space for gear and atvs. I just wish it had a black tank.

I have a Fleetwood E4 and I would agree with Mike, if you are going to load the front end, try to put as much of your gear inside aft of the axels. My F-150 sagged even with the WDH tighter then a banjo string. The new Ram 3500 SRW is tough enough not to sag.

What do you plan to use as a TV?
