Heard today that Thor CA has been sold!

Sounds like the company has been sold to a group of three current Thor employees.

Anyone have any other info? Or hearing anything else.

It's been in the news. Now a private company called MVP, with 250 employees. I am sure you can find more info by doing some Google searches.

Good deal about MVP! Sounds like a positive step in the right direction, by dedicated people in the industry.

I wish them well!

Similar to what Thor Did with Thor West several years back - "Sell" (For minimal) the company to existing Management team and save costs of shutting down an operation they'd grown tired of. Let it sink or swim on its own.

The new company gets to give it a try with minimal investment, and the Parent company gets to exit the business without the costs associated with a plant closure.

We'll see if they fare better than Mountain High Coach did - the settlements from that venture to employees and vendors just finally got sorted out late last year - and they closed in like 2000 or so.

I think anyone owning a Thor would still be OK, as I am sure the Warranty liability will not carry over - you will have a Thor Warranty, I assume, though the administration of it might get kinda funky.

The Thor offices are located at the Airstream factory. Every time I drive by there, I'm amazed at the bubble campers sitting there. Can't make money with them sitting at the factory.

I have a feeling we are going to see more of this. Companies are going to be downsizing or going out of business. We have a WW and look at them.
