UFO's will be hard to find until the huge oversupply of Diesel Pushers in their size range is disposed of. Manufacturers seemed to bring mostly what they badly needed to get rid of. A DP with the same floor plan as a UFO would be a most difficult sell given the price differential in coach and fuel.
No manufacturer brought a UFO to the FMCA Rally. All but one sales rep tried to steer me to their DP. Only real innovation I saw was the Country Coach Veranda models. Beautiful coaches, but a totally different price range.
Workhorse brought a chassis and was the ONLY source of brochures. They had floor plans from 8-10 manufacturers, but none had a completed coach to display.
Ford was a no show at the Rally.

You know with reduced sales and high diesel fuel prices, RV makers may want to wake up and smell the coffee burning on the stove. The UFO may be one thing that that helps save the RV Class A industry...like Cal Ripken saved baseball after the strike when there was no World Series. I hate to think that RV makers are like politicians..the more they talk about change the less good changes they make. New DP chassis' may not cut it for RV makers. Let's see how Tiffin does with the Power Glide and Fleetwood does with their new Power Bridge. I think they should seriously consider having a gas pusher option to attract the W-24 or Ford buyers and not think of the UFO as just something that cuts into their DP sales. I bought my new coach because it is a UFO (with its fantastic braking system) gasser with a floorplan that my wife and I both like. I had no intention of buying a DP at all.

Just returned from a trip over Donner summit to Grayeagle and back in our new Rexhall on the UFO chasis. This road has sections that will shake your teeth out. It is diffrent then our old motorhome, and I need a few more miles to feel real comfortable with it. It did a very good job climbing the summit. Loved the way the trans will downshift on hills when the retard switch is on. We tested the brakes on our way home from picking it up when a pickup was sideways in front of us on the freeway. They will lock up 22.5 tires. Overall I am very happy with it.
