Took my Denman spare back to Tire Kingdom yesterday and told them I did not like the 7+ ounces of weight. They assured me that they lug centered balanced the tire. I had them check again. It was not lug centered balanced. Tire was rebalanced again and weight is now 2 ounce. Same as when the Marathon was on it.
There are several posters on here that say to have them lug centered balanced and I have in the past but did not request it this time.
Everyone interested, I spoke with Denman this morning directly. First Stacy from customer service and then the product director for their Express trailer tire line. They actually called me back from my prior inquiries and apologized for the delay in getting back to me. Apparently, my messages were in limbo after their phone system tanked and they're now just up and running properly again. Anyway, they were both happy to take all the time needed to answer my questions.
Here's the skinny on the Denman Express trailer tires. Their BIAS trailer tires (all sizes) are made right in their Ohio plant - always have been. Their RADIAL trailer tires (all sizes) are made in their contracted Mexican plant to their formulation and specification - they always have been since the introduction of the radial. Currently, they are out of stock in their own warehousing center of some of the popular ST radial sizes, but they've just filled large orders to chains, including Tire Kingdom. A bulk shipment from Mexico is expected in 2-3 weeks to re-stock, and they indicated that their sales have skyrocketed in the ST market for the past 2 years and demand has increased very quickly compared to the small niche they had just a few years ago.
As a result, I just ordered a set of 5 for my box trailer to replace my NEWER set of failing Duros, 205/75-R15 6-ply, for $85 each installed from the local NTB. Pulled from Tire Kingdom warehouse in Tennessee, and expected in 2 days via DHL (no additional cost to me). Not BAD! Anxious to compare them to the Maxxis I just put on the HTT. One thing to note, Denman has a 60-month warranty, which is the longest I've seen.
Duro has a pro-rated and conditional warranty, but they do have a stipulation of 4 years against dry-rot up to 50% suggested retail. I am filing a claim with them to see if I can cover the new shoes since they're within 4 years (incidentally, Duro and Denman warrants from date of manufacture; Maxxis and Carlisle warrant from date of purchase/installation). Now I just need that check from Carlisle!
I tried to buy 4 225/75R15 from NTB here in Wilmington. Wanted made in Mexico. Guy said they didn't have any and would be 10--14 days from warehouse and could not do better..I can't wait-heading back home on Monday.
Sounds like your dealer is going all out to sell you tires. Maybe NTB in Wilmington could take a lesson.

Seems all NTBs aren't created equal! Should tell them Amber in the Deptford, NJ store made it happen for another customer this morning. It's only 30 min from Wilmington to Deptford, but you'll have to pay gas, toll, and our NJ sales tax... At very least, I'd ask them to tell you which warehouse has them in inventory because the NTBs in this area primary source from Tire Kingdom's distribution in Manassas, but Amber was more than happy to search the nationwide network stock and get it done for me! Tennessee had 61 in the size I needed. I can tell you Denman has none in their own inventory in that size (i.e., the size you want), in either LR, right now!
