Taking out the jack knife is easy, usually a few screws throw it out the door and remove usually a few pieces of ugly mounting wood on the walls. Just buy a sleeper sofa, be sure it will fit in the space, be sure you have enough room to fold it out and still move around in the trailer, and last but not least, before you buy the sofa, be sure it will fit through the trailer door!!!

The Magic Bed sofa that replaced our old jack knife style cost $1200 at the RV dealer in Red Bay AL. They cost about $1600 when ordered from Tiffin. The MB is much more comfortable than the sofa bed style.

Replaced jack-knife in Catalina class C with 'bunk' size bed - real mattress. Only few inches wider than sofa put away & only few inches narrower than sofa full open. Worked well for me.

It had been an hour and a half, give people a chance.

There is no reason this can't be done if you can find a sofa that is as short as your current sofa so it will fit. Also be sure that the bed will fit when it is out. The main question is can you get it in the door or do you have a large window you could take out?
