You did the right thing and I think she would agree.
Just had to do the same thing with Beaker.
Guess I need to change my forum name now.
Probably won't.

Beaker - do NOT change your name - I will always be Koko's friend and therefore I am kokofriend in memory of her.

Awwwww, I'm so sorry. It's got to be the saddest thing in the world, to lose the source of such pure love. Hugs to you and your DW.

Well said!
After our last dog was put down we said "never again". Well that lasted 2 weeks when Ellijay came into our lives. Same breed but different from Charlie. Dog is treated better than a child and never misses a trip.

So sorry for your loss. It is so hard to have to make that decision.

My heartfelt condolences go out to you in the loss of your friend. It is hard letting go but it is something was must do to help our fur babies. Letting Old Fella go was one of the hardest things the wife and I have ever faced. It will soon be a month since we said goodbye and I still look for him as if he were still here.

We took in another Old companion and named his Charlie. The daughters thought it was too soon to bring in another dog that was up in years, but I am glad we did as he has made the days easier as we look to his needs and it takes our minds off of missing Old Fella. I hope tomorrow will be somewhat easier for you and your family.
